Parent Resource Book Library

The Parent Resource Book Library is now up and running. Please click the link in the right margin. If there is a library book you wish to borrow, please Click here to contact me.

Please note: This privilege is opened to CHEN members only. If you are not a paid member, you cannot borrow from the library.

Field Trips and Activities

The field trips for CHEN are in the process of being posted to the calendar.

Please check back later, I'll try to get it done a.s.a.p. Thanks.

I have finished posting all the CHEN activities to the calendar.

I will be providing a separate calendar for the Friday Homeschooling Group as well.

Stay tuned!!

Also, the field trip co-ordinator is not attached to the calendar event. I may try to include that later but it is space-challenged. The best thing is to check your newsletter for the person in charge of the field trip. If you do not have a copy you can contact Candis through the e-group or at a email her.

Field Trips

All field trips will be scheduled on this sites calendar link for the upcoming 2008-2009 school year. Please check back soon for our scheduled events if they are not yet posted.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO FOLLOW THE CODE OF CONDUCT AGREEMENT
(refer to policy link on this website)

CHEN Field trips are only available to CHEN members. We are aiming as a leadership team to have all bookings of field trips done online (except of course for those who are not internet connected). When making a booking online contact the person designated for that specific trip and then mail the cheque to that person.

In your email please include:
1. Name
2. Phone number.
2. How many adults attending.
4. How many children attending & their ages.
5. Total amount of cheque.

When your email is received, you will get a return email verifying whether the trip is still available and that you are on the list. Then you can send out your cheque payable to the designated person for that trip.

Please be advised that there are NO refunds after the designated date. Your payment is transferrable to someone else. This is your responsibility.

For directions to field trips, refer to www.mapquest.com

Some dates may be subject to change.

We support Christian values, the traditional family and home education. We request that all members, visitors and their families respect these values at all CHEN related meetings and activities.

MEMBERSHIP:

Members receive membership lists, regular meetings, chapter membership with OCHEC, access to our extensive library, our online e-group, as well a access to activities and field trips.

PRIVACY POLICY:

Christian Home Educators Network (CHEN) is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. We do not share any of the information collected on our registration forms. This information is given solely to other members to be used for the purpose of communicating within our homeschool community. We request that members respect this commitment and not give any information from their membership lists to non-members. If non-members require assistance or information please have them contact our group's represetative and she will be pleased to provide as much information as possible.

DISCLAIMER: CHEN can not vouch for the quality or caliber of content of any other organizations, groups, individuals, businesses, activities, etc. mentioned on this website or in any edition of our newsletter. Such entities are introduced to readers fo rtheir consideration and it is up to the discretion of parents as to what they do with this information. CHEN and its leadership team do their best to ensure satisfactory content for activities, etc., however, we assume no responsibility for any groups, individuals, or businesses contacted by our members through our activities, meetings or publications.

CODE OF CONDUCT AGREEMENT FOR FIELD TRIPS:

Parents, as members of CHEN, accept on behalf of their children who wish to participate in field trips, lessons, or activites organized by CHEN or their members, the following code of conduct. By signing your membership forms, you indicate that you understand and accept these guidelines.

1. That, because facilities request fees in advance, it is necessary to prepay organizers.

2. That respect for instructors and facilities will be shown always. A child who receives two cautions for misbehaviour may be asked to leave by the organizers or instructor.

3. That most facilities do not offer refunds in the event of non-attendance or in cases of absence due to inappropriate behaviour.

4. That each of us is responsible for the behaviour and safety of the children we bring to activities.

5. That commitments made to attend trips should be kept because guides and preparations for attendance are arranged based on the number of people who are expected. Homeschool groups get a bad reputation when participants fail to met commitments they make.

6. Every effort should be made to arrive at your destination on time so that the trip is not delayed.

Sharing and Interacting Here with CHEN

I am looking forward to using this website as a tool for our group. This website gives me the ability to post links to various homeschooling sites, support groups and networks.

I am still in the learning stages but I really like the looks of this site and the ease of use. Eventually I will be posting all the field trips and activities, for sale items etc. I finally figured out how to link google calendar to this blog for our group's access.

Any postings from this site will also give the reader ability to comment in the comment box.
